Chapelle Charlemagne Vineyards Limited Production 2016 Chardonnay
The Chardonnay was barrel fermented in 75% new French oak puncheons. 15% ML. barrels stirred monthly for 6 months after primary fermentation complete. Aged 8 months in barrel.
2016 was quite wet in early spring making conditions challenging in the vineyard. July and August dried out and we saw good ripening and flavor development in both reds and whites. Merlot, Cab Franc and Chardonnay stood out.
